Relief for Ferguson’s businesses

We are pleased to announce the Small Business Relief Program — a public-private partnership of $1 million to assist impacted small businesses in the Ferguson area. The impacted area includes specific commercial corridors within Ferguson, Dellwood, Jennings and unincorporated St. Louis County.

The program fund was made possible by the State of Missouri, the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, the St. Louis Regional Chamber, and a coalition of banks.

The Small Business Relief Program will help many impacted small businesses in the area meet their most pressing needs. The Small Business Relief Program will provide zero-interest loans and will be customized to meet the specific needs of each eligible business.

 Job creation

On Sept. 2, Centene Corp. announced that it had selected Ferguson as the location for a new claims processing facility, with plans to bring up to 200 jobs to the city. As reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Centene, a Fortune 500 managed care company based in Clayton, Mo., with $10.5 billion in annual revenue, said the center will process claims from ts Missouri-based Home State Health, in addition to overflow from its contracts in other states.
