Online cabinet retailer CliqStudios plans to invest nearly $2 million to build a new design studio in St. Louis County.
The move, which will create 98 jobs, is yet another demonstration that the county is a great place to do business, according to local officials.
“We are seeing unprecedented success in companies locating good-paying jobs in St. Louis County because of all the advantages it brings,” St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger said. “Our high-quality workforce is talented, educated and hard working. We have excellent business real estate offerings and affordable housing. The bottom line is that companies are recognizing that St. Louis County is a great place to live and work.”
Stenger noted that more than $1 billion worth of business expansion and relocation has taken place in St. Louis County in the last two years.
CliqStudios is the nation’s largest online seller of semi-custom kitchen cabinets through its website CliqStudios.com. The company offers free professional design services ranging from designing cabinets based on a customer drawing or professional plans to full kitchen design.
St. Louis Economic Development Partnership CEO Sheila Sweeney said there is currently a lot of competition among areas vying for business relocations and expansions.
“CliqStudios is based in Minneapolis and has an Indiana factory,” Sweeney said. “The company choosing to put this new facility in St. Louis County shows that our region, with its central location and a great workforce, is able to successfully compete with other business-friendly areas nationwide.”
