The St. Louis Economic Development Partnership has submitted its fiscal-year summary for 2015-16.  The business development department partnered in more than $2.5 billion in investment, 4,833 new jobs and 7,376 employees retained.  The St. Louis City and County figures represent projects that were announced, closed and completed during the past 12 months.  Highlights are listed below:

St. Louis County

  • Blue Orb Solutions – selected Helix Center for U.S. headquarters
  • Boeing – 700 jobs / $300M / new advanced manufacturing
  • Bunge (pictured) – 200 new jobs / 550 employees retained / agribusiness headquarters expansionBunge-2
  • Charter – 350 new jobs / 750 employees retained / $10M / new call center at Northwest Plaza / New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocation

  • Patheon Biologics– 380 jobs / $58M / expansion of manufacturing facility
  • Rabo Agrifinance – 250 jobs / $32M / new North American operations center
  • Schnucks – 400 employees retained / $100M / new high-performance warehouse
  • Seventh Wave Labs – 100 jobs / $11M / Small Business Administration (SBA) loan & incentives for incubator client to expand
  • Silgan Plastics – 120 jobs / $20M / plastics manufacturing plant & job training
  • SKF – 73 new jobs / 388 employees retained / $50M / new technology & manufacturing center in NorthPark
  • St. Louis Community Credit Union – 15 jobs / $3.1M / NMTC investment supporting services in Jennings, Ferguson and St. John
  • Throttlenet – 24 jobs / technology company expansion in Crestwood
  • Urban League – 25 jobs / 20 employees retained / 65 temporary construction jobs / $6M / new community empowerment center in Ferguson
  • Varsity Tutors – 150 jobs / $5M / technology startup expansion
  • Virbac – 144 new jobs / 228 employees retained / $35M / expansion of animal health company
  • World Wide Technology – 600 new jobs / 1,800 employees retained / $95M / global headquarters expansion in Maryland Heights

  • AAIPharma & Cambridge Major Laboratories – 30 new jobs / 80 employees retained / $10.7M / expansion of headquarters to Cortex
  • AB Mauri – 75 jobs / $10M / new research & development lab
